Il Festival IMMaginario e La Repubblica XL collaborano con la MondoPOP International Gallery di Roma per portare a Perugia da tutto il mondo i nomi più influenti delle nuove correnti pittoriche del Pop Surrealismo e dell’Urban Art.
La mostra collettiva Urban Pop Surrealismo IMMaginario si propone di dare uno sguardo alla comunicazione visiva contemporanea in ambito artistico.
Mentre la corrente dell’Urban Art o Street Art nasce dal fenomeno dei Graffiti, del Writing, quindi nell’East West degli USA di fine anni 70, ed è giunta a trasformare i nostri spazi urbani in veri
e propri musei a cielo aperto, il Pop Surrealismo nasce dalla Lowbrow Art, quell’arte di “basso profilo” che si sviluppa nella West Coast californiana negli anni 70, influenzata da quelle che
vengono spesso definite subculture, come ad esempio fumetto, cinema, tv, musica, tatuaggi, cartoon.
Il pittore Robert Williams ha coniato il termine Lowbrow Art e lo ha sbandierato con orgoglio fin dagli anni 70, fiero delle sue radici underground.
L’associazione tra Pop e Surrealismo viene introdotta nel 2004 nel libro Pop Surrealism dalla giovane critica e gallerista Kirsten Anderson e da allora si usa per indicare la corrente pittorica che è l’evoluzione della Lowbrow Art. Negli ultimissimi anni la nuova tendenza sembra essere che molti urban artist si stanno dedicando
a opere da studio con un’attitudine pop surrealista e molti artisti esponenti del Pop Surrealismo realizzano opere in strada.
Questa fusione è indagata dalla mostra Urban Pop Surrealismo IMMaginario che vi mostra affiancati nomi storici del Pop Surrealismo come Lisa Petrucci, Glenn Barr, Gary Baseman, Gary Taxali e firme più recenti come Dean Fleming, Joe Ledbetter, Paul Chatem e Victor Castillo a importanti esponenti dell’Urban Art come Boris Hoppek, Becca, Buff Monster, Ian Stevenson e molti altri e vi invita a trovare le grandi differenze tra loro.
Vedrete, non sarà facile.
Tra gli artisti anche vari esponenti italiani di queste correnti artistiche, tra cui Massimo Giacon, Diavù, Alberto Corradi e Ale Giorgini che sono ospiti di IMMaginario anche in veste di autori
delle strip a fumetti de La Repubblica XL.
E questo proprio per valorizzare il fatto che molti artisti contemporanei non temono di sperimentare vari linguaggi e per sottolineare il concetto che Urban
Art e Pop Surrealismo non hanno paura di contaminarsi, visto che sono nate e cresciute grazie alle contaminazioni tra generi e linguaggi.

deerBLNproject, a growing group show !
Founded by Berlin artist Christian Rothenhagen (a.k.a. deerBLN) in 2006, the
deerBLNproject has a simple, clean yet engaging concept:
By personal invitation from Christian, artists are asked to submit an artpiece that adheres to only two rules:
the first is that is has to relate to the topic „deer“.
the second, it has to be a specific, set size of 30 x 30cm (almost 12 x 12 inches).
Any medium – such as painting, drawing, collage, … , assemblage, photography etc. is possible. It only has to be easily shipable.
With every new artist, another point of view is added to the ongoing project, and C. Rothenhagen likes to stress that the artwork does not necessarily have to feature a deer itself – to him, it is more about the things the artist associates with the topic, and the variations that inevitably occur: it is all about different perspectives.
The deerBLNproject is a constantly growing, travelling exhibition that has already been exhibited at

Foire Internationnale d’Art Contemporain - Santiago du chili, Chili.
GKo Gallery participa en Feria Internacional Ch:ACO de Arte Contemporaneo.
El próximo 8 de Septiembre se inaugura en la ciudad de Santiago (Chile) la tercera versión de la Feria Internacional CH.ACO de Arte Contemporáneo, evento cultural mayor en este país y en la región. Tras ser seleccionada dentro de las 15 galerías internacionales por parte del comité editorial de la feria, GKo Gallery se presenta como una galería especializada en trabajos y artistas que desarrollan su obra con técnicas derivadas del arte urbano (instalación, graffiti, muralismo urbano, intervención).
GKo Gallery (Tolosa, Guipúzkoa) se ha centrado, desde el 2008, en el “street art” como línea de desarrollo artístico, promoviendo la difusión y reconocimiento institucional de este tipo de artistas en la región, dentro de España y también en algunos países de Latinoamérica.
Esta es la primera ocasión que una galería del País Vasco presenta el trabajo de artistas urbanos en una Feria de Arte Contemporáneo, también será la primera ocasión que la Feria CH.ACO otorga la oportunidad a una galería de arte urbano dentro de su recinto. Lo que transforma a esta ocasión en una oportunidad sin precedente.
Xabier Anuntzibai -XTRM-, Garikoitz Murua -Txori.A- y Mikel Tellería son los artistas locales que han sido seleccionados para presentar sus trabajos en esta feria. GKo ha decidido incluir además del trabajo de los artistas vascos, a artistas franceses, argentinos y chilenos para otorgar una visión global del movimiento del arte urbano a los visitantes de la Feria. Entre estos, se encuentran el colectivo DOMA (Argentina), Basco-Vazko, Cekis (Chile), Carole Bielicki y NiKoDeM (Francia). Para generar una dinámica de intercambio local GKo presentará también el Espacio Escape, que mostrará obra de distintos artistas urbanos chilenos emergentes.
